Gallery News for April 18, 2008

There will be a special art and music presentation at MoRo Gallery on Mountain Road Thursday night with Bekah Wiggins, a musician and film actress now living in New Mexico. Showing at the gallery in April are paintings by Angus Macpherson and Sarah Hartshorne plus guest artist Lee McVey's pastels, sculpture by Jill Cooper and jewelry by David Pritchard.

In connection with Alchemy: Collage & Assemblage which opened April 12th concurrently with Snap Crackle Pow!, enjoy Poetry & The Absurd: Dada writing workshop, Saturday from 10am to noon. Next in the Art in Film series sponsored by AABA and albuquerqueARTS Magazine will be Bomb It on April 26-29 at 4:30, 6:30 and 8:30. A lively, engaging, documentary, Bomb It is about the worldwide phenomena of street art, graffiti, mural, and tagging that not only speaks and is spoken to by practitioners and fans of the form but also it's vehement critics and haters. Some of the work is refined and subtle and some of it is outrageously direct and purposely crude. Working Classroom has joined us in sponsoring this controversial film.
